Basic Schemes for Vector Control of AC Induction Motors

Abstract
In this paper, various strategies for controlling AC induction motors are presented. First, the basic scheme of motor control for steady state applications is discussed. Then, the Field Oriented or Vector Control approach is presented, two variations of which are discussed: Direct Vector Control and Indirect Vector Control. Finally, the complete general schemes for both types of AC motor control are analysed.
