Abstract

The number of domain names is continuously increasing and the extent of security incidents is increasing accordingly. Thus, automated solutions are becoming necessary for monitoring the domain names and alerting their stakeholders. Determining the reputation level of a domain name increases domain security for individuals, public institutions and private companies because it enables users to gain a clear understanding of the trustworthiness associated with a certain domain name. This, in turn, creates a safer online environment. This paper aims to present the architecture of an automated monitoring platform, which is meant to dynamically establish the reputation for each .ro domain and other domains as well. The primary objective of this paper is to enhance people`s trust in the use of .ro domains by reducing the exposure to malicious activities on the Internet through automated monitoring and consequence mitigation.
