Deriving Particular Agile Scheduling Systems Using the HOLOS Methodology

Ricardo J. Rabelo, Luis Manuel Camarinha-Matos
Abstract

This paper illustrates how a particular agile scheduling system can be generated interactively based on the HOLOS methodology. The three underlying directions on which a derived HOLOS scheduling system is supported are addressed modeling and information integration, virtualization of the enterprise's production structure, and a negotiation-based multiagent distributed control. The HOLOS System Generator, an interactive system deriver based on the proposed methodology, is briefly explained, as well as the description of the prototype being developed at the UNINOVA's pilot flexible manufacturing and assembly system (F AS/FMS).
